A MYSTERY WRAPPED IN AN ENIGMA

Posted by: Melanie  /  Category: Uncategorized

Ever heard of a Turducken? They’re apparently all the rage right now – a chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey. Weirdest portmanteau ever… Well anyway, we’re not really quite into that kind of thing at the Wild Cow. That’s why Chef Nick has boldly decided to one-up this trend: Vegan Chorizo and Mexican Rice, stuffed inside Red and Green Bell Peppers, stuffed inside a human. And that human is you, my friend. Call it a Pepphuman, or a Chorizon if you well. Actually call it whatever you want, its delicious and comes topped with a vegan sour cream, and a side of pinto beans. RICE AND CHORIZO STUFFED INSIDE A PEPPER STUFFED INSIDE A HUMAN. THINK ABOUT IT. YEAH ITS THAT GOOD. (*Self-cannabalizim not required)

The soldiers of the future are holding down the front lines of vegan desserts: Snickerdoodle Cake, Carrot Cake, Raw Banana Chcocolate “Cheesecake”, Mini-chocolate cupcakes, “Creamcheese” Brownies, Cookie Sandwiches, Peanut Butter Banana, Vanilla Lavender, Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Maple Spice Cupcakes, and MORE!!!

COME

GET

STUFF’d.

No Joke.

PARADISE FOUND

Posted by: Melanie  /  Category: Uncategorized

John Milton is most well-known for his epic retelling of man’s fall from grace, Paradise Lost. However, less commonly known is the subsequent work in which mankind is delivered from the peril of eternal damnation, Paradise Found. One of the most academically scrutinized excerpts from this tome  around the discovery of what Milton calls “The Eden of the West”:

“And that these two starving, naked, bestial creatures

so far from the arms of their loving father

cast out and banished, seemingly fated to wander or’ the vast plains of oblivion

should stumble so serendipitously across such a magical place

that all their woes were instantly quelled, their fears assuaged – the place they called

“The Wild Cow” – where, to here from the eldest among us,

the keepers and guardians of the Word, was to be found in abundance

a dish most holy and abundant in flavor, with won’drous bits of Coconut-Curry Marinated Tofu

served over organic brown rice, and what’s more, with peppers and onions of the most spectacular sort. ”

Scholars have naturally puzzled over this curious passage for decades. The precision of its prophetic reports have, to our great benefit, come to pass on this exact day in October 2011, at 1896 Eastland Avenue – exactly at the latitude and longitude which Milton so long ago foretold. In the penultimate book, a “revelation” of sorts, Milton adopts the attitude and register of a bone-fide soothsayer -

“And lo, there earth shook, and the heavens trembled,

and upon them were vast triumphant multitudes,

an endless heavenly host of dessertly vegan-ness -

Pumpkin Cupcakes, Free of Gluten, encrust’d with a Maple Frosting

Cupcakes once more, gentle Bananas and Cream, kindly Orange Blossom Almond,

And the war-like hoard of Chocolateers- Ganache, Coconut, Germanic

And the fearless fiend himself, who’s name falls terribly upon the ears of the unawesome -

Cookies and Cream Cake, destroyer of hunger, king of kings,

surrounded on his pedestal by Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies, and their snivleing counterparts,

the tempestuous Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwiches…”

Milton goes on to mention several other semi-dieties in this doomsday scenario, including the iconic Raw Banana Chocolate Cheesecake, Giant Chocolate Filled Cookies n’ Cream Cupcakes, and Vegan Rum Raisin and Coffee Ice Cream.

John Milton: Genius or Heretic? Come into the Wild Cow today and judgment shall be yours to dispense…

For you cretins out there, I’ll translate the above Hawai’ian phrase – “Hey stranger. You’re lookin’ a wee bit down in the dumps this lovely afternoon. Are you still bummed about wiping out on that mondo wave in front of all those totally tubular dudes and dudettes? Yeah, that was so like, not totally killer brah. Looks like you need to hang ten over to THE WILD COW and snag up a HOT FRESH BLACK BEAN VEGGIE BURGER – HAWAI’IAN STYLE! It comes with Coconut-marinated Grilled Pineapple and Teriyaki BBQ Sauce, and your choice of a side! It also comes with a side of love and respect forever from anyone who knows you were wise enough to order it. And that’s not a bad deal for $8.75. Usually money doesn’t buy respect. Hah. We’ll show them.”

Jeeze. Why did we ever let those weirdos become a part of the U.S.? Whatever.

In other news, our White Bean and Kale soup is ummmm how shall I put this OFF THE CHIZZLE, as is our side of the day, Spicy Tex-Mex Quinoa Salad with Black Beans, Chipotle Peppers, and Zucchini. Yes, that is exactly how I would put it.

Hey, also, so, remember that one time when we had like, a bunch of awesome vegan desserts here? Like, German Chocolate, Orange Blossom Almond, Mochaccino, and Giant Chocolate-filled Cookies n’ Cream Cupcakes, Whole-wheat Pumpkin Bread Loaves, and Pumpkin Cranberry Cookie Sammiches? HAHAHAHAHA TRICKED YOU CAUSE YEAH YOU DO REMEMBER THAT BECAUSE ITS RIGHT NOW AND TECHNICALLY EVERY MOMENT IS FLUID AND ETERNAL AND NEVER-ENDING AND THUS THE CONCEPT OF A DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE IS FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED AND THUS THE SO-CALLED PRESENT IS ACTIVELY THE PAST ALREADY AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT SO THUS YEAH YOU DO REMEMBER THAT. Because it’s right now.
